4 days and already with the rambles...

4 days in and it couldn't get better!  BUT it will! A group of us (10 in total) are planning a trip to Barcelona (the locals there say: "Barthelona") next week for 3 days!  I am up to my ears in corn, as the saying goes, in excitement!  Manana we go to Segovia, and Mon-Wed we travel to Leon!  Needless to say time is short here, and there is much to do!

I live in a great house!  My family, roommate, and I always have a great lunch time discussion!  I cannot even begin to tell you how grateful I am for the family I have been sent to in Spain! They are amazing!  So far we have talked about Romney, bad media in these days, the Mormons (us)...and other good things.  They are so much fun to talk to, and I always feel I can express an idea to them when I need to, when in my heart I know I should share something with them...does that make sense?  Learning Spanish here has thrown my English off quite a bit, and I feel at times I can't speak either! Haha..the irony!

Although I'm the weird one here, it's ok because I still have time :)
Coach Prather, my high school cross country/track coach, told me I was always the swan amongst the ducklings.  I think I understand what he means...FINALLY.  It always takes me some time, but when I bloom, I bloom!  What I mean is, sometimes I just need some time to figure everything out before I do anything, say anything, become friends with someone, etc etc....but when  I finally do-it's a great thing!

Well, I'm feeling rather rambly today....so I think this will be the end of day 4!  !Ten cuidad!

Oh..and enjoy these photos..'cause my camera broke..(it's now on my list of things to buy while I'm here-great.)

A little version of the city I live in!

The University!

(well a door at least...)

Los viejos (old guys) in the plaza!  Every day!

Famous mosiac:  "Zeus y Leda"

(en el museo de arqueologia en mi ciudad)

Doesn't this look like something straight out of Hercules??? (yes, I mean the Disney movie version!)

Of course I'd find this little guy amiss  in the city!

(ok fine...he was the pet of one of the families a girl in my group lives with...)

This is the plaza where we meet for pretty much everything.  It is such a beautiful place....only just about to get a little more!  The trees you see, that make a 'U' shape, around the plaza are olive trees (with no olives) that blossom just about this time! I'm so excited.  Also are rose bushes too!  !Alabanzas para la primavera! (praises for the spring!)

*Think of this picture as the "before" picture!!*

I get to see this great guy everyday in the Plaza de cervantes...he's Cervantes afterall!
